OK, I'm having a massive disruption in my blogging life. I'm struggling with this blog because it's ruining my images. I thought that leaving Blogger might help. But for me, Blogger is where I'm happy. Someone suggested moving to WordPress. It's too complicated for a bear of little brain, like me. Someone else suggested Substack. I tried it. It was very limited and quite full on in trying to turn my humble little blog into a commercial enterprise. So I deleted that.
I want to stay on Blogger. It's not perfect. In recent weeks I've had issues with commenting. Issues with the Blog Roll updating. And finally these problems with my images. It's all been a little too much.
Along with other issues in my life, it's added to a lot of noise in my neurodiverse little head. I'm overthinking things, overreacting to things and acting on impulse and not thinking clearly.
My plan is to try and fix my blog. If that's not possible I'm going to start a new one from scratch. I'm going to take my blog offline tomorrow to start the maintenance on it.
I'm also going to take a short break from social media for the rest of July, to give me time to settle myself. Hopefully that will calm the waters a little and let the neurospice dissolve away.

Hi Dee, I'm really sorry to hear about how Blogger's glitches are affecting you (in my parlance, 'doing your head in'). You may have seen from my recent blogs that trying to word wrap etc. around pictures throws the post into a maelstrom with the blog self-formatting ... grrrhhh!!! Hours spent 'getting it right' and then when it's published, the leprechauns have been at work. So, taking a rest may be a good thing for you. I keep planning to do phony blogs to try and understand how the formatting goes astray but I'm too lazy. (I'm also wanting to spend that time on art, not administration). Like you, I went to wordpress for a particular blog (my Albania trip) but I couldn't get on with it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the break and I look forward to your return, Nikki xxx
Oh, while I'm here ... commenting ... for me I have to change browsers from firefox to chrome in order for my Nikki google account to come up automatically. With firefox I use google in male mode and don't want to risk forgetting to change the settings.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments, Nikki. Blogger is both brilliant and maddening. I've had an awful week because of the problems. I've still got a bit of work to do on the blog, and I can comment when using my new phone, but I can on the old one.
