September Song

So September came and went. Along with October and May, it's usually one of my favourite months of the year. However this time it was a month to sort a lot of things out. Sort Out September! And I did get a lot of things done. Not everything on my 'To Sort Out' list, but a lot of them.

The first big job was 'Sort Out The Fish Tank'. My aquarium had a nasty scratch across the front glass and it also got neglected during a period when my Wife was very unwell, and I'm afraid algae had run amok. So a new tank was purchased and the big job of decommissioning the old tank, safely storing the fish and their lifeline, the filter and then setting up the new tank took place. It is a tricky operation that requires military level planning and execution, and I'm pleased to say it went well and I got it done safely, all in one very long day. The new tank looks great, and all of the fish survived the move and are enjoying their new home. I've added a few new fish and they are settling in well. I'm very pleased with it so far.

The next big task to tackle was getting a whole load of rubbish sorted and then transported to the local recycling centre. A couple of days of hard work, but it's a good thing to have ticked off my list.

Ready For The Tip

I made great progress on my various tasks, and although I haven't completed the list, I've done well. But in the last two weeks of the month, things became very difficult.

My Wife's health has taken another downward turn and it's been very difficult caring for her. It's taking a heavy toll on the both of us. We just have to hope for an improvement in the next couple of weeks, so she is more comfortable and I can get a little more rest. I'm absolutely exhausted. I still have to lock in the respite care we need, but first we need to get through this latest health crisis. I'm very conscious that these health issues are beginning to stack up for my Wife and whilst not entering the end game yet, she is probably,  to paraphrase the song I've used as the title for this post, a lot closer to December than September in her life's metaphorical calender.

Of course, the biggest casualty of this busy and difficult month, has been my dressing. I haven't had any Deeanna time since the beginning of August. I'm determined to get some opportunities this month. That sense of dysphoria is slowly but surely rising.

I did manage to get myself a bargain in the sale at Lady Vintage London. A beautiful sateen 'Hepburn' dress for just £24.50 inc p&p. It's beautiful. The 'Hepburn' dresses really suit my figure and I always look good in them. So I am really looking forward to wearing it. I need to find some shoes to go with it, and some white opera gloves and a cute little clutch bag. I've included a photo from the Lady Vintage website, showing this beautiful dress.

I'm still hopeful of getting a week's respite break in a residential care home for my Wife, so that I can recharge my batteries, which are very much depleted at the moment, and if that happens, I will have a few nice dressing sessions. I'd love to have a trip out in public. And I hope to meet up with my crossdressing friend, Veronica and her wife for our usual get together. But that depends on how my Wife is. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

There won't be an edition of 'On The Turntable' for September, simply because I was too busy to actually put anything on the turntable! But I've already listened to a fantastic new album by one of my favourite groups, this month, so there will definitely be something to post about for this month. I'm also slowly but surely cataloguing my record and cd collection onto Discogs, the online music resource. It's been an interesting experience.

I will end by apologising for being ridiculously behind in my following of your wonderful blogs and commenting on them. I hope normal service is resumed soon.

Thanks for reading.
