Back To Life

The story of a Tgirl coming back to Life.

So in November 2016, I moved down to a bungalow near Redruth in Cornwall with my Wife. It was a big help having single story accommodation with no stairs for my Wife to contend with. I knew that it would be a few months before I would be able to dress as my preferred self, but there was no sense of dysphoria or despair about it. I knew things would come together and I would be able to dress from within my newly constructed Tgirl closet. Having the building in the garden that my Wife can't access, gave me the place I needed for Deeanna to survive and thrive. But it needed to be a makeshift storage facility until we got fully settled. So I would have to wait a little while.

In May 2017, I had a little dressing session. No make up, but it was nice to be femme again in my new home.

It would be a few months before I dressed again, when I had a wonderful dressing opportunity.  In September 2017, my sister and her husband were going away on holiday and they asked me to pop in and keep an eye on their chickens. On one of these visits to their cottage, I took my femme gear with me, and after my chicken care duties, I  dressed and for the first time since 2013 wore make up. I felt wonderful and I think I looked really good.

I had been following a Cornwall based Tgirl for a few years on Flickr. Natalie Nettle was an incredibly beautiful and creative girl. We made contact, and in November 2017, we arranged to meet up for an afternoon out at Tehidy Country Park, a few miles from my home. It was the first time I was out in public since my visit to Kew Gardens in 2011. We had a leisurely stroll around the lake, chatting and taking photos of each other. It was a lovely day.  Sadly we never got the chance to meet again. We were planning to meet in early 2020, but sadly the Covid pandemic and Lockdown prevented us getting together. Natalie was in the vulnerable health category and so couldn't meet as the pandemic eased and has stopped posting on Flickr.

I was dressing fairly infrequently during 2018, but after the recent years of none dressing, it was enough to keep me in touch with my femininity. I had started a part time job as a holiday let cleaner which took up a lot of time, alongside my caring for my Wife.  On some cleans, I was completely alone on site, and on these days I would go to work as Deeanna. If felt so liberating to be dressed en-femme while working. Somehow it made my life as a woman more complete.

The highlight of 2018 was when I got the chance to visit one of my friends from Flickr and TV Chix. It pretty much changed my femme life for the better after a few difficult years. I had been casual friends on Flickr with Veronica Page and followed her on TV Chix too. We had commented on each other's photos since around 2011. We both shared a love of shiny rainwear and Veronica had many photos of herself in such attire. Veronica listed her location on Flickr and TV Chix as being in Milton Keynes. However I happened to do a local search of Tgirls on TV Chix and she appeared on it. Then I noticed her location read Helston, Cornwall. I immediately messaged her and it turned out that we had both made a move down to Cornwall within six months of each other, Veronica arriving in the Summer of 2017. We swapped a lot of messages as we got to know each other better and then Veronica invited me to visit her and her supportive wife at their lovely home. So in June 2018, I met Veronica and Mrs Page for the first time. We had a lovely day chatting, taking photos and we both wore some pvc rainmacs together. It was a really lovely day spent with someone who has become a wonderful friend. It felt so good to escape my burden of caring for a day and just be femme with like minded friends. We have met every year since then, and had some lovely days together sharing our femininity and friendship. I'll be making a future post about my visits to Veronica.

My First Visit To Veronica
2018

The rest of 2018 was very uneventful with few dressing opportunities and I didn't bother to take any more photos that year. I can't really say why that was. I certainly wasn't losing my dressing mojo.

2019 started slowly with no dressing until the Spring, but then I had quite a few dressing sessions throughout the year.

I also tried out a new more mature look, with a grey permed wig. I enjoyed wearing it, and although I occasionally wear it, I think it makes me look a little too old.

I also managed to have two visits to my friend Veronica. One in July and one in October.

And so we come to the very strange start of the decade. In February 2020, I had another visit to Veronica. As usual, it was a lovely day. There was a story in the news about a virus in China, and I can remember us discussing it. What none of us could imagine was how bad it was going to get. And it happened very quickly. I wouldn't be able to visit Veronica again for 18 months.

February 2020

2020 would be dominated by the Covid virus and lockdowns. I found the whole situation incredibly stressful and depressing, as did so many of us. As a result there was very little dressing in 2020.  I did manage to take one of my nicest lingerie photos in 2020, so with that and the visit to Veronica, the year wasn't a total disaster on the femme front.

And so 2021 arrived in much the same situation as 2020, with the Covid pandemic and ever more complicated lockdowns and restrictions imposed upon us. But there was some optimism with the arrival of the vaccines, which would turn the tide against this horrible virus.  For myself it wasn't a good time, and I completely lost my dressing mojo. I only dressed once this year, which was for a visit to Veronica.  It was so good to see her and I hoped that my enthusiasm for dressing and life in general would return as a result of having a lovely day in her company.  But sadly it didn't.

Visit to Veronica  2021

I can't say 2022 started off very well. I was still feeling very down and lacking in enthusiasm for dressing and life in general. I didn't dress at all for the first six months of the year. And once again it was a visit to my friend Veronica that got me back into a frock.
I enjoyed my visit to Veronica, as I always do, but I wasn't happy with my femme appearance or presentation, as I had piled on the pounds. I looked awful. Veronica gifted me three wigs she no longer used. Two were vintage ones. I tried them both on. They were nice wigs but I looked dreadful in them. Fat and frumpy.
However, whereas I failed to gain any enthusiasm after my last visit to Veronica, this time I felt it returning. And my reaction to not liking how I looked in the photos was to be inspired to do something about my weight and femme presentation. So I went on a diet and began exercising again. I had lost a bit of weight by November and felt ready to dress again.

Visit to Veronica 2022

I had bought a new silver wig and I had a few dressing sessions before the end of the year, trying different looks with my wig and the ones that Veronica had given to me. It was a good end to the year as regards my dressing. However the year ended on a difficult note as I caught Covid and I was very ill over the New Year holidays.

It took a few months to recover from my illness, but I still managed a couple of nice dressing sessions.

Early 2023

By May 2023 I was fully recovered and feeling ready to dress again.  I had a few lovely dressing sessions and really enjoyed it. I think I finally settled on a look that worked for me, and I don't think that had been the case for quite a few years. It really felt like my Golden Years were back.

Some photos from Spring 2023

In July I had the first of two visits to my lovely friend Veronica. We decided to go with a 50s vintage style theme. I think we looked great.

Following my first visit of the year, I had a few more wonderful dressing sessions at home.  I really felt very happy with my femme life.

Summer/Autumn 2023

In November I had a second visit to Veronica, which as always was wonderful. It was good to get two visits in one year. Due to the pandemic we had only managed one visit per year since 2019.

I ended the year with a photoshoot in my new shiny red pvc mac, which was a Christmas present to my femme self.

A shiny end to 2023

2023 proved to be one of my best years ever.  It started in difficult circumstances but I had really found my feet as Deeanna again.

The next year was going to be a hectic one. In 2024 we would be having a lot of work done on the house. But I was determined to try and maintain my momentum from the previous year. And I managed to have regular dressing sessions throughout the year. The highlight was a wearing my white vintage dress with roses and a lovely white lace cardigan. I felt so pretty and feminine.

My favourite look of 2024

The other highlights of the year, were another two visits to Veronica, one in May and one in October, which was my tenth visit to her. Yet again we had fun and wore some gorgeous outfits. These visits really rejuvenate me and help get me through some difficult times.

I think I managed to achieve a good year for my femme self, despite all of the upheavals.

So we come to this year, 2025. It's proved to be a very challenging year. My Wife's condition has deteriorated and it's becoming harder to care for her, which is obviously impacting on my independence and my dressing opportunities. But there have been opportunities.

Photos from 2025

The highlight of the year so far was a visit to see one of my oldest friends, Nikki Kent. After 16 years of being friends, we finally got to meet face to face and it was wonderful.

2025

Sadly I haven't been able to meet Veronica yet, but I'm hoping that will happen soon.  These visits are always wonderful and help me to cope with a difficult life.
I also joined the trans organisation, the Beaumont Society, so we will see how that goes for me. I think it's a positive step.
2025, has of course, been difficult for anyone who is trans, but I'm determined not to let it stop me being who I need to be.

My Wife's worsening health and mobility is presenting a lot of problems for us both, and this includes my life as Deeanna.  But I'm determined that I will find a way to find fulfilment in my femme life.

Being trans has been a very difficult journey for me. But I have never wished that I wasn't transgendered. I can't imagine a life without femininity in it, in some form or other. And I'm going to make sure that my future is as full of Deeanna as it can be
