Life Happens

I haven't done any blogging in the first half of November. And my plans for the rest of November have changed.

"Life happens while you are making other plans"

My big plans this month were to visit my friend Veronica and her wife at their home for a day in early November, and then to have a trip out in public, dressed as Deeanna later in the month.

I was due to visit Veronica in the first week of the month. But unfortunately her wife developed a nasty cold, so the visit was postponed until early December.

I decided to use the day to have a dressing session and wear the outfit that I would have worn at Veronica's. It also gave me an opportunity to try on my new long blonde wig. In the end I had a lovely day, although not as enjoyable as if I had been spending the day with Veronica and Mrs Page.

So one plan had fallen through, but I had my next target. The trip out in public. That was planned for this coming Thursday with trip to my home town to take a walk around the town centre, and then to visit M&S, Next and Boots just outside the town. I was really looking forward to it. But I've had a bit of trouble with my asthma in the last month, and it's worsened to the point that I am having quite a bit of trouble with it. I've seen the GP who sent me for an urgent chest x-ray and I will have further tests once the results of that are back, later this week.  So with all of that, and the weather due to be very cold, I've decided to give up on this trip out until I'm back to full health again.

But I will have another dressing session on Thursday, but stay at home in my warm and cosy dressing space.

So life happens and plans change accordingly.

Here are a couple of photos from my dressing session from earlier in the month. I am rather pleased with my look.

  1. Dee, I’m so sorry your November plans didn’t go quite as hoped, it really is true that life has a way of rearranging things for us. It must have been disappointing to miss the visit with Veronica and her wife, but it sounds like you made the very best of the day. Your dressing session and the chance to try your new blonde wig sound lovely, even if it wasn’t quite the same as sharing the day with friends.

Your decision to postpone your trip out is completely understandable. Health comes first, and asthma trouble is nothing to push through, especially with the cold weather settling in. I hope the chest x-ray and tests give you some clear answers and that you start feeling much better very soon.

I’m glad you’re still treating yourself to a cosy dressing day on Thursday. Creating those moments of comfort and joy at home can be just as meaningful.

And your photos are really nice, you have every right to be pleased with your look. Thank you for sharing them.

Wishing you good health and a smooth start to December.

    1. Thanks Lotte. It's suddenly so cold out, so it's definitely best for me to stay in the warm. I did enjoy my dressing session and I'm looking forward to the next one.

  2. Aw, that's a shame that your preferred plans haven't come to pass, Dee, but as it's Nasty November when the bugs come out to play it's probably best to keep good health as your top priority.

Still, you've had one good opportunity to dress. The blonde hair suits you and the leather dress is fabulous. Good idea to team it with red. Hope the next session works out and your rearranged visit to Veronica.

    1. I'm all fully vaccinated against flu and covid (and £90 worse off thanks to the NHS abandoning covid vaccines), but I'm not risking any nasty infections if I can avoid them.
I love that dress and I thought I'd give it a go with the red cardigan and I think it looked great. And I definitely love being blonde. Thanks for the comments.

  3. I’m sorry your plans kept shifting this month. That’s so frustrating. But your dressing session turned out beautifully. The blonde wig looks amazing on you.

I hope your asthma settles down soon. Staying warm and cozy sounds like the right call for now. Sending you a little love while you rest and recover.

    1. Thank you for visiting my blog and for your thoughtful comment, Michelle. I did have an enjoyable dressing session, despite it not being my original plan. And I was very pleased with my look.
I'm currently waiting for results from a chest x-ray and blood tests to rule out anything really nasty, but I feel I'm ok and if I can get my asthma back in check I'll be fine. So a week of resting in the warm will definitely help, and I'll be having a nice dressing session to boost my spirits.
